A Place Called Common

With a theme of texture, inspired by a day out in North Wales, I used outdoor materials to compliment the big open windows - with the aim of bringing the outside in. The pebble dash is a common design feature in North Wales, and the wooden CNC wall is reminiscent of the scales of a dragon and housing roof slates.

All the lights were hand made by John MMM based on a reimagining of his cup designs. Other lamps were creating using elements from the old Common bar. 

The tables at common are totally unique, made from Welsh Ash with Welsh joints. The chairs are also a bespoke design, made from a birch plywood that was CNC cut from an 18mm board. The idea was that the space would be simple - letting the materials do all the work to add depth.
